Obituary of Mattie Richardson Mattie Mae Richardson was born in Franklin Parish south of Delhi, Louisiana on June 13, 1927. She departed this life on December 5, 2014 in DeSoto, Texas. She was born to the parentage of Charlie Robinson and Mary Cotton, who preceded her in death. Mattie moved to Rayville in the early sixties where she became an active member of the First Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor S.J. Scott where she served on the Usher Board for many years. She served the Rayville Community faithfully throughout her life. She was a member of the Rayville Eastern Star. In 2007, she received the Longevity Award, Honoring Our Elders – Supporting Our Youth. As an employee of the Louisiana County Extension Services, she demonstrated native Louisiana recipes in the homes of the members of the community. She was later employed as a cook for the Rayville Community Nursing Home on Madeline Street. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking. She loved to share her harvest from her garden with families and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Johnny Richardson, one daughter – Charity Mae Mathis Allen, one sister – Pearlie Cowart and three brothers – Clarence Johnson, Mallie Johnson, and Andrew Johnson. She leaves to mourn a son, Lee Dickens (Suzie) of Houston, Texas, three daughters, Josephine Mitchell (Russell) of New Orleans, Louisiana, Betty Moss (Roosevelt) of Desoto, Texas, Barbara Loyd-Danzie-Weaver of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, She also leaves to mourns – 15 grandchildren; Curtis Wayne Dickens, Jarred Tealer, Samantha Dickens, Stephanie Dickens, Lee Tyson Dickens, Mark Mathis Sr., Walter Lee Allen Jr, Rodney Allen, Sharon Kay Allen Jones, Teri Mitchell Crawley, Sherri Lynn Mitchell Johnson, Russell Mitchell Jr., Shelia Yolanda Moss, Maurice Moss, Damien Jamaal Danzie, and 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
