Obituary of Luther Houston Mr. Luther Dave Houston Jr. was born on May 13, 1943 in Dallas, TX to the parentage of Luther Dave Houston Sr. and Estella Pace Houston. He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church. He was a proud member of the Dallas Independent School District. He married Velma Slaughter and to this union five children were born. Then, Luther and SanJuanita Cabrera united and to this union two beautiful children were born. Luther was preceded in death by his parents Estella Houston and Luther Dave Houston Sr., two sisters Novella Burdett and Ruth Young, three brothers William Ray Houston, George Houston and Lonnie Madden and three nephews William Ray Smith, Jeff Terrell Jr., and Robert Madden. Luther entered eternal rest on October 25, 2014. He leaves to cherish his children Norma, Sedrick, Phyllis, Luther (Sandra), Andrea, Crystal and Leslie, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three special nieces Sondra, Terri, Stella, two nephews Leo Jr and Robert Burdett, a special neighbor Jacqueline Nealy Nelson and a host of relatives and friends who cared for him until the end.
