Obituary of Julius Coleman Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and, Dedicated Man of God are just a few words that describe Julius Dell "J.D."Coleman was born on the 16th of April 1928, to the parentage of Daily Coleman and Willie Gertrude Cashmere in Dallas, Texas. He received his formal education in the Dallas Independent Schools and was a 1946 graduate of Lincoln High School. He attended Wiley College, Marshall, Texas and Bishop College, Dallas, Texas. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. J.D taught at James Madison High School and Hillcrest High Schools. He was the First Black Ramp Supervisor at American Airlines were he retired after many years of service. Following his retirement he continued to stay active working as a school crossing guard and worked at the Old Mill Inn. He was a past member of Regular Fellows Club. In addition to that; he was a current member of the WLAA, Dallas Chapter where he served as the past President, and past National Vice-President of WLAA. He united in Matrimony to the former Willie Mae Walker. J.D. loved the Lord and was a faithful member of St. Luke Community United Methodist Church. He had a heart of compassion and was committed to serving and supporting others. His smile was infectious and his personality filled with passion and vibrancy. Those who were close to J.D. were touched by his loving spirit and thoughtfulness. Knowing J.D. helped you understand that it is the quality of one's existence that far exceeds the quantity of time lived. Our heavenly Father released J.D. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014; He is preceded in death by his parents and son Dwight Coleman. J.D. loved his family so much and truly believed family is everything and with God anything is possible. The celebration of his life and legacy continues with his wife: Willie Mae Coleman, 3 daughters, RaySonia Coleman, Julia Dobbins (Andrew), Arlean Coleman, 1 son, Keith Coleman (Ericilda), 1 stepdaughter, Erie Rawlins, 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
