IF ANYONE SHOULD EVER WRITE MY LIFE’S STORY
Where should I start…?
The ultimate measure of a woman is not where she stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where she stands in time of hardship and challenges. I, Claudette Board Dickerson chose to stand on God’s word and promises. I was born of the flesh on September 4, 1936 to two wonderful parents, Vernon and Lillie Mae Board. I am the eldest of 7 children.
That which is born of the flesh shall die. That which is born of the spirit will live forever. I professed a hope in Christ while yet a child and was born of the spirit many years ago.
Well, I didn’t just become educated overnight. I attended the Dallas Independent School District and attended some college courses in Floral Design, Event Planning and Cake Decorations, which developed my unique character and personality.
I am a member in good standing with Saintsville Church of God in Christ where I served in many roles for many years. I took pride in my cooking ability by selling plate lunches to raise money for my church. I also worked with the Acorn Community Action Organization for many years.
Some of the things that I am proud of are my formulated recipe for Corny Dogs that was presented many times for PTA, other school events as well as other activities. Along with my Corny Dogs recipe, my Brownies and Cookies were a big hit for my grandchildren. With a knowledge of sewing, I acquired a job at Simmons Mattress company, I made drapes for my home. I later worked for and retired from AT&T then moved to Texarkana with my husband Cliff.
I was so excited to be united in holy matrimony to Mr. Clifton Dickerson, who preceded me in death. I loved to sing, shop, travel, and cook but most of all I loved the Lord.
Recently you read in the papers or heard through friends that I, Claudette Board Dickerson, is dead. Don’t believe a word of it. At this time, I have gone up higher, that is all; out of this old clay tenement into a house that is immortal, a body that death cannot touch, that sin cannot taint; a body fashioned like unto His glorious body.
On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, I heard my Savior say Servant, Well Done and I entered into my Master’s Joy! Rejoicing with me in my Father’s house is husband, Clifton Dickerson, father, Vernon Board: mother, Lillie Mae Board Randall: son, Jeffery Aikins; Sister, Carmelia Louden and my other relatives and friends.
Reuniting with me one day will be my gifts from God, my beloved family and friends, my loving and devoted children, daughter, Pamela Aikins; sons, Mark Beane and Bruce Beane (Frances) and my adopted daughter Gerre Williams; Sisters, Carmeace, Vernon Jean, Soundra, Barbara and Brother, Virgil (Janice); Grandchildren, Anwar, Lupe, Beatrice, Jerome (Victoria), Jeremy, Demetria, Jordan, Jahir, Zoeey; Great Grandchildren, Elijah, Isaih, Jeremiah, Joshua, Micah, Jonathan, Jasmine Rose, Noel Ani; God-Children Tasha and Jacoby. Oh, I can’t forget my many nieces and nephews to whom I adore. A host of foster children to whom I loved dearly, the many cousins, other relatives and wonderful friends.
Through all of my trials and tribulations; ups and downs of life, I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
To all of my family and friends, DON’T GIVE UP!
It Doesn’t End Here…
…Keep Lifting him up!
