Obituary of David Austin David Reginald Austin was born on July 31, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, to the parentage of Doyle and Betty Austin. David accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Dallas Independent School District and graduated from Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1969, where he was a member of the marching band. David served in the United States Army for 4 years and was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1976. David went to work for the United States Postal Service- Dallas Bulk Main Center where he retired after 38 years of service. In recent years, he took an interest in home repair and remodeling and furthered his education by receiving a certification in Green Energy Technology in 2011. Hobbies included photography, boating and fishing. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Darlene Austin, in January, 2014. He leaves to cherish his memory – his parents, Doyle and Betty Austin; his wife of 8 years, Faye Austin; his sons David McHenry (Tara) and Bryan J. Austin (Melanie); his daughters Chontina and Nigeria Austin; his stepsons Deewayne and David Sowels; 12 grandchildren, Sheketha, Davien, Dayiona, Malik, Dana, Tadavia, Demarcus, Isaiah, Donovan, Dorian, Damariya and DaShanna; his 2 nieces Tiffany Austin-Jones (George), Ashley Richardson (Thomas); his nephew Byron Austin (Monique); his special Aunt, Patricia (Charles); and a host of many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
