Obituary of Eunice Murphy
Eunice Vanette Murphy was born January 19, 1952, to the parentage of Vandy A. and Lula W. Murphy in Cameron, Texas (Milam County). She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Beckley Heights Church of Christ in 1990 and remained a faithful member until her death.
Vanette received her formal education in the OJ. Thomas Schools and later moved with her family to Dallas, Texas in 1961 and was a 1970 graduate of Franklin D. Roosevelt High School. She matriculated further receiving her bachelors of Science degree in Child Development from Prairie View A& M University in 1974.
She was employed with the City of Grand Prairie as a Code Enforcement Officer for over thirty years retiring in 2010. She continued working with the City of Dallas County Health and Human Services Senior Citizen Program until her health began to fail.
Vanette had a zest for life. Her smile was infectious and her personality filled with passion and vibrancy. Those who were close to Vanette were touched by her loving spirit and thoughtfulness. Knowing Vanette helped you understand that it is the quality of one's existence that far exceeds the quantity of time lived. Her loving smile brought so much joy to everyone. Her loving kindness reminded us of the preciousness of life. Vanette's memorable life will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
Vanette entered eternal rest on August 1, 2014. She is preceded in death by her father, Vandy A. Murphy, Sister Patsy Ruth Murphy and nephew, Byron Norton.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one son Ira Odell Murphy of Dallas, Texas, mother, Lula Murphy, one sister, Vicky Murphy Norton, one brother, Vandy A. Murphy Jr. All of Dallas, Texas. her nieces, Lisa Norton Hall (Nick) of Dallas, Texas, Harvey , Denitra , Georgia, Bessie, Angela and Hazel Monique all of Houston, Texas, nephew, Vandy A. Murphy III of Pamona, California, Jeffery, Robert, and Rodney all of Houston, Texas, great nephews and niece, Jyron , Nickolos and Lauryn all of Dallas, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.
