Obituary of Joyce Marie Robinson Aldridge

Obituary of Joyce Robinson Aldridge Joyce R. Aldridge, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend passed away on October 31, 2013, at age 68. She was born on December 3, 1944, in Houston, TX, daughter of Lusious B. and the late Willie Mae Robinson. Joyce was an educator and administrator in the Wilmer Hutchins Independent School District for 35 years. She was one of two African-American teachers to integrate the faculty at Hutchins Elementary School in 1967. She was the Executive Director for Human Resources for the district when she retired in 2002. Joyce was also a member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. – Delta Epilson Chapter and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.,-Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter. Joyce is survived by her father, Lusious B. Robinson, Sr., her husband, Howard O. Aldridge, Sr., her son Howard O. Aldridge, Jr. and his wife, Demetrica; her daughter Tamela Aldridge-Cousar and her husband, Timothy; her adopted son, Anthony Melton and his wife, Lisa; four beautiful grandchildren, Jasmin Aldridge, Howard Aldridge, III, Hampton Aldridge and Thembi Cousar. She also leaves to cherish her memories six sisters, Jacqueline Revely and her husband, Gerald, Anne Carter, Beverly Benoit and her husband, Jon, Dr. Theresa Robinson and her husband, Cornell, Willie Claire Robinson and Emily Woodson and her husband, Harry; and one brother Terry Robinson and his wife, Jennifer.
