Obituary of Andrew Sherman
Andrew was born, August 4, 1925 to the parents of Andrew Sherman, Sr. and Lillie Mae Young-Sherman in Henderson County. To this union eight children were born.
He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age, and later united with True Lee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Robert L. Parish, Sr. He was a faithful member until his health began to decline.
Andrew received his formal education in Henderson County. He was inducted into the United States Army on January 31, 1942. His Army occupation was listed as a "Truck Driver Heavy 931." Later after actively serving his country, Andrew held other positions during his employment years. He served as a supervisor for over forty years at Foremost Dairies.
He united in Holy Matrimony with Dorothy Marie Rainwater on January 4, 1949 and was blessed with 58 years of marriage. To this union one son and five daughters were born.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Rainwater Sherman, a son, Michael Sherman, a grandson, Stacy Cash, his parents, two sisters and five brothers.
Those left to cherish the beautiful memories are: his daughters, Janice Board (Virgil) of DeSoto, Brenda Cash, Gale Jeffery, Andrea Sherman of Dallas, and Debra Gamble of Mesquite; sisters, Ethel Woodard, Marjorie Calloway, and Linda Sherman; 13 grandchildren, Eric Board (LeShae), Rodrick Board, DeShandra O'Neal (Fredrick), Kenya Brooks (Everett), Scoey Cash, Kimberly Gamble Dunn (Oscar), Marcolus Board, Clifford Jeffery, Lamone Jeffery, Deniscia Jeffery, Wendrea Sherman, Andrew Michael Sherman, and Amuria Sherman; 19 great grandchildren, Eric Board, Jr., Jazmine Forman, Courtney Board, DeJon Jeffery, Kyndal Gamble, Dejuan Jeffery, Jaylon Jeffery, Devyn Daniels, Kenneth Brooks, Journey Board, Marcolus Board, Jr., Ayanna Jeffery, Kennedy Board, Candance Jeffery, DeAysha Sherman, Kyah Brooks, Wesley O'Neal, Cordae' Jeffery, Skylar Sherman, one great great grandchild, Janisa Board, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
