Obituary of Karen Stacy Dawkins

Please share a memory of Karen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Karen Stacy Williams-Dawkins was born on November 23, 1966 in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Calvin Williams and Mattie Mae Thomas-Williams. She went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 8, 2018. Stacy accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. C.B.T. Smith. She later moved her membership, along with her mother, to Concord Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor E. K. Bailey. In 1999, she met Douglas Dawkins, fell in love, and they married on April 11, 2003. Once married, they became members of Crossroads Church in Mansfield, Texas where they actively serve in the children’s ministry and group bible study. Stacy was educated in the Dallas Independent School District and graduated from F.D. Roosevelt High School in 1985. She continued her education at El Centro College of the DCCCD. Known as the “Payroll Lady”, she worked for nearly three decades in the Independent School Districts of Dallas, Ft. Worth, DeSoto, and other corporate sectors. Some of the things Stacy cherished the most was sharing wonderful memories with her family and friends, traveling, and cheering on her beloved Dallas Cowboys. She leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, Douglas Dawkins; daughter, Alexandria Shia’na Williams; son, Xavier Dawkins; mother, Mattie Hardaway; brothers, Larry Woods, Gary (Helen) Woods; numerous nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to a GoFundMe page, which will assist with her son’s educational needs.
