Obituary of Ruth Gosey Lowery
Ruth G. Lowery was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on March 31, 1916, to Elijah and Vinia Gosey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her only brother, Alvin Gosey (Jeannene); her only sister, Rosa Lee Lewis; and daughter, Johnny Jackson.
Ruth was truly an inspiration to her family. A loving, courageous and strong "Louisiana Gal" as she called herself. Ruth accepted Christ at an early age. She moved to Dallas, Texas, in the early 1930s. She raised three children while maintaining a career as a home care provider and later as a file clerk for the federal government until her retirement in 2000.
Ruth G. Lowery made her blessed journey to God on August 22, 2013, at home surrounded by her family.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Beverly R. Jenkins of Dallas, Texas; her son, Michael Lowery of Dallas, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and one nephew.
