Please share a memory of Iola to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mrs. Iola Lamott was born on May 2, 1936, to the parentage of A. J. and Mary Lynn Riley in Marion, Louisana. She was one of three siblings.
Iola left Marion, Louisana at an early age and moved to Dallas, Texas, where she graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.
Iola became a faithful servant of God in her early youth, uniting with the Munger Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. B. E. Joshua. She later became a faithful member with the Greater Golden Gate Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Jacko, whom she loved.
She married Servie Joseph Lamott, who preceded her in death. To this union six (6) children were born: three daughters, Lenda Lamott, Cassandra Lamott, and Patrica Ann Lamott and three sons, Joseph Lamott, Kerry Lamott and Sheddrick Lamott. Cassandra preceded her in death.
Iola leaves to cherish her memories: five children, Lenda Jenkins (Anthony), Patricia Allen, Joseph Lamott, Kerry Lamott and Sheddrick Lamott (Narkisha); 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; two brothers from Los Angeles California, J. C. Riley (Glenda) and Robert Riley (Essie) and five nephew and two nieces. Two preceded her in death: Carol Riley and Robert Jr.; and a host of relatives and devoted friends.
