Obituary of Mae Helen Hurd

Mrs. Mae Helen Hurd was born in Terrell, Texas April 22, 1933 to the parentage of the late Milton and Helen Woodard. She grew up in the loving, God filled and nurturing community of Terrell (Kaufman County) which set the foundation for her impactful life. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She worked at Weber Cleaners for many years and then went on to work for Dallas Independent School District as a school crossing guard. She was a committed and extremely devoted mother. She was an extraordinary; she treated everyone with respect and what a strong wise presence she represented. Mae Helen absolutely loved spending quality time with her family. Mae Helen passed away May 26, 2018; she is preceded in death by her son, Theodore Blaylock, her parents, 4 sisters and 3 brothers. In loving memory, Mae Helen leaves as her living legacy: children, Debra Blaylock, Gloria B. Lane (Peanut) both of Dallas, TX, Helen Bennett of Plano, TX., Robert E. Blaylock and Arthur L. Blaylock both of Dallas, TX, 3 grandchildren, Byron Blaylock (Tanesha), Christopher Lane and Jessica Blaylock, 9 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Vinnie Mae Holiness, Annie Turner both of Dallas, TX, Gloria Wallace of Los Angeles, CA, 2 brothers, Lacy Woodard of Ark. And Gene Woodard of Lancaster, TX, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives neighbors and friends.
