Obituary of Tessie Lillian Curry

Obituary of Tessie Curry Tessie Shelmon began her journey as the fourth child of John and Etter Shelmon on January 28, 1918. Tessie accepted Christ as a youth at Colquitt Freewill Baptist Church in Haynesville La. On December 12, 1936 Tessie was united in marriage to Jimmy Curry. They remained a loving couple until his death on September 9, 1984. She later united with the Hatter Chapel Freewill Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir. Mother Curry later moved to Dallas in 1992, where she continued her walk with Christ, serving on the Mothers Board of First Fellowship Baptist Church. Mother Curry was a kind hearted, giving, loving, caring woman of faith. She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Rose Weaver, son-in-law Otha Weaver, two grandchildren, Brandon Thomas and Angela Weaver. One sister Mrs. Shiver Sims of Toledo, Ohio and one brother John Shelmon Jr. of Toledo, Ohio. Deceased sisters are Sally Mae Monk, Katherine Nobles, Arrie Sturges, Vather Walker, Allen George, Louise Miller, and Vivian Evans. Deceased brothers are Leon Shelmon and Joe Shelmon. She leaves behind a host of relatives and friends.
