Obituary of Bonnie Waters
Bonnie Lee Waters began her journey born the second child of Luke and Beatrice Simmons Waters on May 10, 1929 in Unionville, Louisiana. She attended Pleasant Grove School in Unionville, Louisiana.
Accepting Christ in her youth at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Dubach, Louisiana, Bonnie later moved to Dallas in 1968 where she continued her walk with Christ. Serving as a Deaconess at True Worship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Ulysses Mathis.
Bonnie was a kind hearted soft spoken Godly woman, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor. Instilling in her children and grandchildren these values: hard work, integrity, and most of all the love and fear of God. Affectionately known as "Granny" she named and nicknamed each of her children and grandchildren. Jerry (Tirt), Calvert (Joe), Helen (Helene), Pansy (Pam), Shaundra (Shaun-Shaun), LaKiffanie (Kibble Nibble), Shameka (Meka Me) and Ashton (Tator Bug). When she wasn't working she enjoyed her soap operas, some travel and cooking. Bonnie was a great singer and loved to sing hymns. Mama, Granny, Aunt Bonnie was loved and cherished and will be missed by her family, her nieces, nephews, friends and all that knew her. Celebrating her home going to her celestial resting place, one son Calvert (Helen) Waters, daughter Pansy Waters Jackson, Grandchildren: Shaundra Cyrus, LaKiffanie Jackson, Shameka Nobles and Ashton Clinton, great grandchildren: Shanice and Janae Cyrus, Ashton Jr. and Malachi Clinton, Asia Nobles, Sister Minnie (Jessie) Gray. Preceding her in death were parents Luke and Beatrice Waters, son Jerry Waters, sisters: Jewel Gray, Lillia Waters, Lucy Waters and brothers Lucious Waters and Johnny Waters. We will all remember her love, her warmth, her smile, her discipline, her jokes and her little funny antics. She is irreplaceable and we will miss her greatly, but the legacy she leaves to us is eternal.
