Obituary of Clabon Pleasant Born in Garrison, Texas in Nacogdoches County to Latret Pleasant and Lurline Pipkin. He attended Wiley College but was drafted to serve in the US Army during World War II-from which he earned 4 bronze stars, three overseas bars and a purple heart for tours in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He married the late Modean Dawson in 1948. From this union was born two sons and three daughters. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 38 years. In 1985, he married Shirley Woodkins-Jackson his devoted wife of 27 years until his death. He leaves to mourn his wife, Shirley Pleasant; sister, Caroline Prince; son, Stanley Pleasant; daughter, Joyce Pleasant-Jenkins (Vernon); daughter, Lisa Pleasant; daughter, Sonya Pleasant-Spencer (Erwin); son, Clabon E. Pleasant, Jr. (Bathshua); son, Christopher Lang (Elizabeth) and son, Jonathan Thomas (Tameika), along with 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
