Please share a memory of Minnie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Obituary of Minnie Floyd Minnie Violet Dixon came into this world on September 26, 1942 in Dallas, Texas. She was born to the loving parentage of Birdie Mae and Louis Dixon Sr. (who preceded her in death). Awaiting her arrival were two sisters and four brothers (three years later another sister would be born) to round out this robust Dixon family. Minnie was an active member of Munger Avenue Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She graduated with the Class of 1961 from Dallas, Booker T. Washington High School. On August 30, 1962 she married Johnny Floyd. To this union two loving sons were born: Johnny Floyd Jr. and Michael Floyd. Minnie loved to sing and listen to soul and rock and roll music. Her smile was infectious and her personality filled with passion and vibrancy. Those who were close to Minnie were touched by her loving spirit and thoughtfulness. Knowing Minnie helped you understand that it is the quality of one's existence that far exceeds the quantity of time lived. Her loving smile brought so much joy to everyone. Even in illness, her loving kindness reminded us of the preciousness of life. Minnie Violet Dixon Floyd's memorable life will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones. Survivors to cherish her memory are her two loving sons: Johnny Floyd Jr, Michael Floyd; Johnny Floyd Sr. (ex-spouse), two sisters: Lula M. Walker (John L.) and Gloria J.
