Obituary of Freddie Reeves Freddie Mae was born to the parents of Fredrick Williams and Lois Louise McSweeney. She attended the Dallas Public Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School with the class of 1948. Freddie was no stranger to the arena of Cosmetology as a beautician. Her roots were developed early through the pioneers, her family. After returning from Los Angeles, CA in 1954, she united with Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church under the ministry of Rev. G.B. Prince. She became a member of the Senior Choir under the Master of Music of Mr. Leonard O. Avery. In 1956, she united in matrimony with Artie R. Reeves, Sr. and became a member of the St. Paul A.M. E. Methodist Church under the ministry of Rev. W.E. Carter. She was an active member of the Sanctuary Choir and Jubilee Singers until her health declined. In 1954-1955 she began working with Howard Wolf as a garment packer. In 1955-1983 she joined Dallas Independent School District () DISD) as a Cafeteria Manager, she retired from Henry W. Longfellow Elementary School. Preceding her in death are Husband, Artie R. Reeves Sr., mother, Lois Louise Davis, step-father, John L. Davis, father, Fredrick Williams, aunts, Erma Evans, and Juanita McSweeney, uncles, Willie McSweeney, Thurman Williams and Herbert Williams, daughter, Charlotte Reeves, Son-in-law, John Lee Starling, granddaughters, Cheryl Elaine Starling and Marion Reeves, grandson-in-laws, Alfred John Wilhite and James Williams, cousins, Leonard O. Avery and John Alvin Williams. Survivors: daughters, Billie Starling, Darlene Jones and Revoick James all of Dallas, TX. and Mary Lou Reeves of San Francisco, CA. sons, Artie Ray Reeves, Jr., Clarence Reeves and Paul Reeves all of Dallas, TX. Twenty-three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren, cousins, Ms. Ondene C. Pena, San Jose, CA., Ms. Patricia Evans, San Jose, CA ., Ms. Alice Hall and Ms Carrie Davis both of Dallas, TX. And a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service: 11am., Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at St. Paul A.M.E. Methodist Church Service Center-2300 Metropolitan Avenue-Dallas, Texas 75215 Wake: 7-8pm., Monday, August 13, 2012 at Black and Clark Funeral Chapel-2517 E. Illinois Avenue-Dallas, Texas 75216 Interment: Carver Memorial Cemetery-Ferris, Texas
