Rosie was the first child born to the late Alphonso Foley, Sr. and Katherine Jackson Foley on October 9, 1931 in Dallas, Texas.

Rosie’s public-school education was received from Phyllis Wheatley Elementary and Lincoln High Schools in Dallas, Texas. She was a proud graduate of Prairie View A&M University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education on May 18, 1952. Later she received a Master of Science degree in Education from East Texas State University: now The University of Texas at Commerce.

Rosie was reared in New Zion Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. A.V. Voice. She was a member of the Planning Committee when the church moved from Boll Street in North Dallas to its present site and was re-named Greater New Zion Baptist Church. Later, she united with Crest-Moore Methodist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. George Brewer and remained a faithful member of The United Methodist Church until her demise.

Her love for people, especially children, and desire to serve others enabled her to embark on a teaching career which began in Ferris, Texas. She became employed in Dallas ISD and was an outstanding Librarian at the following schools: M.B. Lamar & William Brown Miller Elementary Schools. Then she transferred to The Law Magnet High School where she remained until her retirement in 1995.

On August 23, 1953, she married the love of her life, Booker Bradley, Jr. They became the parents of three daughters and one son.

Rosie Foley Bradley departed this earthly life on May 5, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alphonso and Katherine Foley and two brothers: George Foley and Donald Foley.

Rosie leaves to sail life’s tempestuous seas: four loving children: Kathleen Abdul-Aziz, Venita Lynn Saahir, Carol Bradley Chandler (Stefon), and Ryan Kirk Bradley; eight grandchildren: Katrina Abdul-Aziz, Ameerah Abdul-Aziz (Gurry), Kameelah Abdul-Aziz, Sydney Chandler, Stefon Chandler II, Ryan Bradley, Jade Bradley, and Logan Bradley; six great-grandchildren, two brothers: Alphonso Foley, Jr. and John Foley; two sisters: Jacqueline Foley-Connor and Jeannette Foley; two dear sister-friends: Betty Mann and Robbye Williams, and a multitude of loving nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
