Obituary of Celia D Hill

Celia D. Hill (C.D.) was born on July 25, 1922 in Ferris, Texas to the parentage of Dennis and Celia Odom. The family later moved to Dallas, Texas where she attended Dallas Public Schools, graduating from Booker T. Washington High School. Discovering Christ at an early age, C.D. joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E.C. Estell. Later in life until her failing health, C.D. attended Pentecostal Outreach under the Pastoral Care of Pastor Fredrick Smith. C.D. was married to Louie T. Hill, who preceded her in death. For twenty-five years C.D. was the Maintenance Supervisor for Doctor’s Hospital where she worked until retirement. Finding herself restless after retirement, she joined Hutchins Senior Center where she was very active until she moved to Windsor Gardens with deteriorating health. Preceded in death by her two sons; Carl L. Coleman and Dennis E. Coleman Sr. and granddaughter, Rachael A. Coleman. C.D. leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter; Charlotte Peterson (Samuel) of Dallas, four grand-daughters; Terre Gibson (Dewayne) of Grand Prairie, Deborah Covington of Irving, Jacqueline Rolen (Christopher) and Princess Sawyer (Brock) and one grandson, Dennis E. Coleman Jr. (Gregory). Great-Grandchildren; Taylor Coleman, Devin Covington, Sterling Rolen, Sydney Rolen, Mia Bullock, Taylor Bullock and Dailen Sawyer. great-great-grandchildren; Kamari Covington and Piper Cheyenne Coleman, as well as a host of family and friends.
