Obituary of Jimmy Lee
Jimmy David Lee was born November 20, 1950 in Tyler, Texas to the late Willie Charles Lee and late Dorothy Cleaver Lee, the fifth of seven children. He was received in the arms of his Savior on June 16, 2011.
Jim was a loving husband; father, brother, uncle, friend, cook, carpenter, teacher, African-American history buff, self-appointed political analyst, avid sports fan prankster, and most of all a faithful servant of God and community. He was a committed member of St. Luke "Community" United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas for nearly 25 years. He was a former president and current member of the Sunrise Usher Board, Good News Sunday School Class, former Trustee, Disciple Bible Study facilitator, Advisor of the Children's Usher Board, and Co-Chair of the Loaves and Fishes Ministry at St. Luke.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife Darlene, son David, daughter Jada Gilbert (Frederick), grandsons Jayce, Jabari and Jamari; brother, Robert (Josephine); sisters, Carolyn Douglas (Arthur), Della Clark(Alfonso), and Sally Vonner(Arvis); loving aunts, Inez Walker and E.V. Cleaver; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
