Obituary of Laura Gipson
Mrs. Laura Mae Gipson was born September 7, 1928 to the parentage of the late Freddie Lee Kellough and Frankie Malone Kellough in Liberty Hill, Texas (Milam County).She was an only child. She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Springfield Baptist Church in the Liberty Hill Community.
Mrs. Gipson received her early education from O.J. Thomas High School in Cameron, Texas and graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High in San Antonio, Texas in 1946. She obtained her cosmetology license in 1947. She met and married Mr. Audric Gipson and they moved to Greenville, Texas where Patricia Gipson was born. They moved to Wichita Falls, Texas and Cynthia and Audric Glen Gipson were born. In 1963 the family moved to Dallas, Texas where Laura was a beautician for over forty years. She retired in 1973 after 22 years in D.I.S.D. They later united with the Galilee Missionary Baptist under the pastorage of Rev. L. R. Davis where she served faithfully.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband of 62 years Mr. Audric Gipson; two daughters, Patricia Gipson Dedrick (George) of Ovilla, Texas; Cynthia Gipson Nickleberry (Philip) of DeSoto, Texas; one son, Audric Glenn Gipson of Dallas, Texas; one nephew Frankie Lee Thompson (Iris) of Grand Prairie, Texas; five grandchildren, Audric Glynn Gipson of Grand Prairie, Texas; Laura Smith (Lyonel B) of Houston, Texas; Ian Gipson (Megan) of Hawkins, Texas; Crystal and Jonathan Dedrick of Ovilla, Texas; two great granddaughters, Reigan and Kennedy Smith of Houston, Texas; 1 great grandson, Kaleb Gipson of Hawkins, Texas and a host of other nieces, nephews family and friend.
