Howard Eubanks Obituary

Obituary of Howard Eubanks Howard W. Eubanks was a very gifted individual who had the unique ability to put a smile on your face and keep you laughing. He was one who never met a stranger. One of the things that he especially loved was being a giver to others without asking for anything in return. Howard accepted Christ at a very early age and that became a dynamic force throughout his life. While living in Dallas, he united with Bethany Missionary Baptist Church where he became a good and faithful member. He was blessed to have so many fond memories while uniting with that congregation. He was born on April 28, 1921 to the parentage of James and Ludie Eubanks in Pine, Texas. Howard was one of five children: Charlie Mae, Algierre, Julian, and Bertrahn. His early education included Excelsor Elementary (Pine, TX), York Elementary (K.B. Polk in Dallas, TX), and Booker T. Washington high School (Dallas, TX). The family later moved to San Francisco, California where Howard was drafted into the U. S. Army and fulfilled his tour of duty mainly overseas. He trained as an engineer and rose to the rank of captain. Honorably discharged in 1945. Howard decided to take advantage of his G.I. bill by studying art and Italian in Italy. Later he studied piano and voice in San Francisco, California. However, he discovered that his true calling was comedy. Thus his show biz career was born. In addition to being a comedian, he did some singing, a little dancing, some magic slight of hands, and he wrote a little poetry. During his 44 years in show business, he performed in various parts of the U.S. as well as in Canada. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Fri. 4/1/11 at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church-6710 Webster Ave., Dallas, TX .Visitation: 1-6p., Thurs. 3/31/11 at Black and Clark Funeral Home Chapel, 2517 E.
