Obituary of Ronald Stinnett
Ronald LeRoy Stinnett age 55, died Friday, March 18, 2011. He was born May 22, 1955 to Robert L. and Joyce M. Stinnett at Ft. Benning, Georgia. He attended Prairie View A&M University, earning All-American, All-SWAC, and other numerous honors in baseball including induction into the Prairie View University Sports Hall of Fame. He was drafted and signed by the Philadelphia Phillies Pro Baseball Organization. He was a Professional Baseball Scout for several major league teams. Dedicated to the athletic and social development of young athletes he founded the Texas Dukes, a select youth baseball organization. He arranged many athletic college scholarships for his players. He was a member of the Greater El Bethel Baptist Church, Reverend William McNealy, Pastor. Survivors include his father LTC, US Army Retired, Dr. Robert L. Stinnett, Lawton, OK; three children, Char Schmicke, Auburn, WA; Gabrielle Walters-Stinnett, Richardson, TX; Timothy Stinnett, Dallas, TX; Five Siblings, Michael Stinnett, Dallas, TX; Patricia Grovey, Hobbs, NM; Lawrence Stinnett, West Liberty, KY; Crystal Barnwell, Augusta, GA and Jarrett Deason, Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his Mother.
Home Going Service, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 26, 2011, Greater El Bethel Baptist Church, 1130 E. 9th Street, Dallas. Interment, Lincoln Cemetery, Under the direction of Black and Clark Funeral Home, 2517 E. Illinois, Dallas (214) 376-8297. Family Visitation and Viewing will be 1-7PM, Friday, March 24th.
