Obituary of Peggy Clarke Peggy Ann Delores Fields Clarke passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010 in Dallas, Texas Mrs. Clarke was born March 29, 1934 in Dallas, TX the daughter of the late Theo and Thelma (Lee) Fields. She graduated from Booker t. Washington Technical High School of Dallas, Texas then attended Prairie View A&M College with a degree in Business Education. After graduation from Prairie View, Peggy taught in her field of study for several years in Lufkin, Texas. She then returned to Dallas, working at James Madison, Roosevelt High School and A. Maceo Smith from which she retired after 38 years of service in the Dallas Independent School District and also worked as a technology instructor at Cedar Valley Community College. She united in holy matrimony to William "Bill" Van Clarke Jr., March 28, 1972. She united with the Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church in 1962 under Dr. C.B.T. Smith and served faithfully as a choir member and deaconess. Her passion and legacy was that of Church Librarian which she loved. She also initiated and established yearly recognition programs of great significance. She continued her fervor of service under the leadership of Pastor Vincent T. Parker until her illness prohibited her from serving regularly. She is survived by her faithful and adoring husband- William "Bill" Van Clarke Jr., son, Kelvin Gardner (Marcheta), daughter, Rachelle Watson (Clarence) of Toms River , NJ, grandchildren, Kelvin Gerrard, Ciara , Kamiya, Antoinette and Nichelle Richardson of Toms River, NJ. Sister Billie Arbuckle, one niece, Gaye Arbuckle, two nephews, Stonie Arbuckle (Mishon) and Antoine Arbuckle (Patricia) of Houston, Texas, great nieces and nephews Lil Stonie, Sawyer, Skyler and Braden of Houston, Texas; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 14, 2010, Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church-1101 Sabine Street, Dallas, Texas Wake: 6-8 P.M., Monday, December 13, 2010, Black and Clark Funeral Home Chapel-2517 E. Illinois Avenue-Dallas, Texas. Interment: DFW National Cemetery-Dallas, Texas
