Obituary of Corine Harper
Mrs. Corine Rosetta Collins Harper passed into eternal life Tuesday morning, November 2, 2010. She and her twin sister, Irene Elizabeth were born on January 21, 1911, the fourth and fifth of five daughters born in Fort Worth, Texas to Singleton George and Viola Livingston Collins.
Mrs. Harper was a graduate of James E. Guinn Elementary; I. M. Terrell High School and a member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Ft. Worth. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wiley College and a Master of Arts in Education from Bishop College in Marshall, TX. Her adult life was lived in Cass County, Texas, residing in Atlanta for more than 50 years. However, due to declining health, she lived in Dallas, Texas since April 2010.
Her life was dedicated to serving others as a Christian, elementary school teacher, volunteer and philanthropist. Preceded in death by her beloved husband McNoble Harper, she leaves to celebrate her life and legacy two daughters: Gloria Harper Lett, Dallas, TX and Mackie Harper (Alfred L. Sr.) Norris, Jonesboro, GA; 4 grandchildren: Alfred L. (Lisa R.) Norris, II, Atlanta, GA; Eric A. Lett, Charlotte, NC; Angela Norris (Tyrone) Johnson, Dallas, TX, and Marvin H. Lett, Silver Spring, MD; 4 great grandchildren: Alfred L. III and Justin Norris, Atlanta, GA; twins Mark and Faith Johnson, Dallas, TX; and many other relatives, friends, neighbors and colleagues.
Visitation will be at Black & Clark Funeral Home, 2517 E. Illinois Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75216 Friday afternoon, November 5th from 2 PM to 5 PM. Celebration of Life services will be at the First Baptist Church-Atlanta, corner of Hiram & Baker Streets, Atlanta Texas, November 6, 2010 at
12 Noon, with visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM. Services will be under the direction of Rambo Funeral Home, Marshall, TX.
