Obituary of Annie K White

Annie Kathryn White was born in Dallas, Texas, on April 5, 1928. She was raised by her loving mother, Maggie Garth in a Christian home. She attended Dallas ISD schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She went on to attend Bishop College where she received her degree in 1949. She worked for Carver Memorial for numerous years, then as the registrar at Bishop College for 30 years before retiring. Later she worked in security at El Centro College for ten years. She also volunteered at the YWCA. Annie Kathryn received Christ at an early age and joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Reverend E.C. Estell. She was a faithful member and worked in many areas of the church. She was a member of the Deaconess Board C, and a member of the Board of Trustees for 43 years, earning an award on June 1, 2003, as an Unsung Hero for Invaluable Service and Dedication, under the pastorage of Reverend Leroy R. Armstrong, Jr. She was also on the Board of the St. John Credit Union. As a trustee she received an appreciation award on March 6, 1988 from Pastor M.L. Scott, Sr. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Maggie R. Garth; and most recently her cousin, Leone Robinson, Sr.; as well as her great aunts and uncles. She leaves to mourn her passing, a host of cousins, friends and church family.
