Obituary
Obituary of Catherine J Hubbard
Please share a memory of Catherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Is an example of a life well lived. Most importantly, she had unwavering faith in God, was a worshipper, and caregiver to many. Her motto was ” Keep God first, family second and everything else third.” She lead an independent and, active lifestlye. And always, was a Fashionista.
God blessed her to see 87 marvelous years. Born, November 5, 1931 in Dallas Texas from Ezekiel and Clara Jones. In 1942, she became the loving wife of Chester D. Hubbard Sr.
The Hubbard’s two sons are Chester Jr. & Robert.
Throughout her life’s jouney, she maintained a simple demeanor that won the trust in hearts of many. Who even now; are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, is shown through the constant smiling, laughing and joking that she shared with many. Known for her ease in conversation and or candid advice some may be surprised to learn of the extreme shyness of her youth. Even as a child she possessed a contagious zest for the Lord she was baptized at the age of 10 in the Wahoo Lake in South Dallas. And attended only one church for 77 years, Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas where she was a faithful and laborious member of the Usher Board and congregation. Catherine held a number of jobs throughout her wonderful life span. She worked as an administrator, and a teacher for 30-plus years. Catherine, has a number of nicknames; Mama, Cat, Baby Sister and Madea, just to name a few. Yet we all love her, in our own ways. She had an elegance about her spirit that would make any problem seem as if ” It will be alright in a little while and remind you to keep all your troubles in God’s Hands.” She was always thinking of others. She planted seeds in many people and reaped a good harvest. Her Legacy will be continued through her children Dewana Jones- Wheaton, and Robert Bullard, Grand Children Karlton & Zan Hubbard, Iesha Patterson a host of Great-Grand, Great-Great Children & Neices, God Children and Friends.
