Obituary of James Lee Seamster

James Lee Seamster, Sr. was born in Doyline, Louisiana to Odessa Jackson Seamster Stubblefield and Lewis T. Seamster, Sr. on January 19, 1946. He went to Dallas I.S.D. and was a graduate of James Madison High School, Home of the “Mighty Trojans.” James was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church pastored by Rev. Lee Walton and faithfully paid his tithes. James married Jimmie Giddings on September 21,1968 and they were blessed with two children: Devonda Seamster and James “Teedy” Seamster, Jr. James served in the United States Army shortly after graduation for a period of time. He was later employed with Affiliated Foods Store Warehouse and Consolidated Freight Warehouse. He also worked with the U.S. Post Office. James found a true passion and love in the game of golf. As a young caddy at the courses in Dallas, he soon learned the game himself and became an instructor giving students private lessons and volunteering at community centers. He could often be found golfing with his best friend, Leonard Jones(Pro Golf Player) at L.B. Houston Golf Course. James also loved fishing and spending time with his family. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and could be often seen sporting their gear. James is preceded in death by his son, James Lee Seamster, Jr.; parents, Odessa and Lewis T. Seamster; two brothers Donald and Gary Seamster; and two sisters Arestine ”Iris” Gipson and Nora Taylor. James is survived by his daughter, Devonda Seamster Eaglin(Jerry) of Carrollton, TX.; Granddaughter, Adrian McGee of Dallas; Grandson, Cedric McGee, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA.; Great Grandson, Devon McGee of Dallas; Sister Oneatha Seamster Ray of Dallas; Brothers Floyd Seamster of Texarkana, TX. and Lewis T. Seamster, Jr.(Laverne) of Dallas.; A special friend, Grace Lusk; A special nephew, Darren Seamster; A special niece, Odessa Gipson; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
