Obituary of James Edward Tenison

James Edward Tenison was born to the parentage of Milton Tenison and Eliza Harris on September 16, 1942 in Kaufman County. His family later moved to Dallas, Texas where he completed his education at Booker T. Washington High School. As a young man he was fondly known to many friends and relatives as Gable, whom select few continued to call him the remainder of his life. As a young man he worked at the local P&K grocery store where he first met his wife to be, a young newcomer from Snyder, Oklahoma, Margie R. Smith. To this union 2 children were born, Adrinnia (Diane) Tenison and John Alfred Tenison. James went on to work at Texas Instruments for a few years and later began a 31 year career at Delta Airlines from which he retired in 2001. He developed many friendships that lasted throughout his lifetime while there. Three special friends from Delta Airlines include Claude Miller, James Felton, and Bill Wallace. He and his family moved to Seagoville Texas in 1972 where they purchased their home and raised their children there together. In 2009, James united with Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of his nephew, Reverend Kennon Tenison, where he attended until his demise.
James is the proud father of 2 children, Diane and John, 3 grandchildren James (Kristopher), Jayla and Jaelon, and one great-grand-daughter Julia Kristolyn Tenison.
He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Tenison, his mother, Eliza Tenison; his brothers, Charles Lee Tenison, Curtis Leon (Rabbit) Tenison; and Raymond Tenison.
He leaves to mourn his wife of more than 50 years, Margie;2 children, Diane Tenison and John Tenison; 3 Grand children Kris, Jayla and Jaelon, one great-grand daughter Julia; 4 sisters Faye Dean Shelby, Evelyn Dale Jones (James), Mary Elizabeth Dabbs, and Patsy Ruth Paige; 2 brothers Eddie Harold Tenison and Melvin (Buzz) Jones (Nita); and one special niece Reshell Shelby and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
