Obituary of Curtis Leon McGregor

On October 7,1937 in Hutchins, Texas, a handsome baby boy was born to Amos and Euollis McGregor. They named him Curtis. He was the third of four children. He attended Phyllis Wheatley Elementary and graduated from Lincoln High School Class of 1955. He also attended Los Angeles City College for a period of time. During his Lincoln High years, he met the love of his life Bettye Johnson, his high school sweetheart. On March 06,1956 they entered holy matrimony for 64 beautiful years. This marriage was blessed with two wonderful children Curtis Jr. and Darryl. Curtis accepted the three angels’ message and joined church fellowship with the Beulah Seventh-day Adventist Church on September 17,1949 under the pastorship of Elder W.W. Fordham. He worked as a dedicated Data Processor with LTV for over 30 years until retirement. He also had his own janitorial business McGregor and Sons Janitorial Service. Following retirement, he dedicated his time to his janitorial service and his family. Curtis was a member of the Washington Lincoln Alumni. He was also the class president of his 1955 Lincoln High School class. Curtis has remained an active member of his alumni class throughout the years. He was affectionately known as “Pops,” “Old Timer,” and “Papa.” Curtis was extremely proud of all of his given titles. He was a man who always gave generously of himself and his time to others. Curtis was such an instrumental part of all our lives and made us all wiser through his understanding. He was a proud patriarch of his family and made life much more beautiful for us all. Curtis will also be remembered for his avid collection of fine cars. His loving memories will be cherished by his wife Bettye McGregor, sons Curtis McGregor Jr (Keitha), Darryl McGregor (Erica), 5 Grandchildren: Shae Hamm (Rudy), Darryl McGregor (Sabrina), Ashley Williams (Jeroid), Toshia Lee (Robert) and Dominique McGregor. 8 Great Grandchildren: MacKenzie, Asia, Darryl, Brooklyn, Kaylynn, Robert, Rhian, Olivia, Anniston, and Addison. A host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives, friends and church members.
