Hello,
my name is Alice Drayton ( formally Alice Keitt). I grew up with Bernard Wright at Calvary AME Zion church in Jamaica Queens New York. Bernard taught me piano lessons and played piano for our choir. Bernard was loved by his Calvary AME Zion family and we were all very proud of his musical talents.
To this very day, I always make sure people that do not know what Bernard wrote, understand the contributions he made to hip hop.Such talents as LL Cool J and others would not have their hit song without Bernard's part. "Who do you love" is one even my children have heard and understand that mom's childhood friend created that and LL had a hit off of the sample.
Bernard Wright will always be a Legacy to the Calvary AME Zion church in Jamaica Queens. My church family and friends at Calvary who knew him were shocked and saddened by his passing.
I pray for comfort and peace to the family of Bernard Wright as you mourn his loss .

Hello to the family of Bernard Wright. You have my strongest prayers. Bernard has always stressed improving my relationship with my kids…. he had a heart for his own. The Master Rocker- was a husband, a dad, and a man living by grace. I have just cried… this can’t be easy….!!!We family , I love y’all and we gonna cry together soon. I celebrate the life of a man of God.
He touched a lot of lives hands down. He was the brother I never had. Yes , I have some but not like Nard….. He is definitely a part of our church history….

Nard,
We'll all miss you, and myself, I'll miss you even more. The early days of Battle of the Bands, the two youngest groups The Jr. Firebolts and Natural Explosion. I personally was looking forward to setting up a big event at Baisley Park in Jamaica Queens where we could have marshaled all of the Queens/NY talent to put on a show for the youngsters, setting the mark clear that there's more to music than the electronic pulses from devices they use.
I guess it wasn't meant to be this time around, but Know, I look forward to that next round... and I'm certain there will be a next round. Until then brother, Sleep with all of those who preceded you into eternity.
